Hi,  and welcome to Hickory Hill German Shepherds! 

We are located in Elberfeld, Indiana, a small community just 10 miles north-east of Evansville.  Steve and I have been successfully involved with German Shepherd dogs for nearly 20 years.  Together, we have bred many dogs that have completed their championships, obedience and agility titles ,and that have worked in search and rescue.

We are the breeders of  the 2000 GSDCA National Best of Breed winner, GV Ch. Hickoryhills Bull Durham, ROM, TC, HIC. To date Bull has sired 29 US champions many of which are select champions. He has also sired many multi champion litters and has been ranked as a top training achievement sire (obedience, herding, ralley) for the last several years. We are also the breeders and owners of 2004 GSDCA National Best of Breed winner, GVX Ch.

We feel that the key element in a successful breeding program is to focus on the total dog…a dog that combines beautiful type, intelligence and correct structure and movement.  Therefore we only incorporate dogs into our breeding program that embody those important characteristics. We feel strongly that puppies should also be well socialized  and raised in a family environment to enhance their development. 

	The dogs we exhibit are all trained and conditioned at Hickoryhill. We use a ”positive” approach  when training puppies for  conformation showing, as we feel that this helps a dog develop an enjoyment for the show ring.  We take puppies in for training and young adults for both training and conditioning, but do so on a limited basis.
