NEWS FROM HICKORYHILL


....We are happy to announce that "Hickoryhill's Sweet Tart" just competed
her requirements to be a Certified Therapy Dog. "Sweetie" is owned by Dr.
Cynthia Pena of NY. Currently Sweetie is in residence at Hickoryhill to
begin her show career.
Sweetie" is the second dog of ours that has recently completed the
requirements to become a Certified Therapy Dog. Hickoryhill's Klevor has
also completed those requirements. Klevor is owned by Carla Kratz of
Evansville, IN

We were very excited to be informed that Select Ch, Hickoryhill's GQ was
named the #3 GSDCA Annual Training Achievement Award(ATAA) Sire for 2007.
This award is given based on the points earned by the progeny competing in
performance events. This is the second top5 ATAA sire we have bred at
Hickoryhill. Our first was GV Bull.

2009 SHOW RESULTS

The 2009 show season has started off with quite a bang! Our Hickory Hills Raspberry Beret is now a champion! She finished in grand style taking a 4pt major under judge John Bemont and finished with a 5pt major under judge Dick Jones. Then first time shown as a Special,at the Jackson, MS Specialties in April, she went Best of Breed under judge Kevin Reynolds and  then under judge Kathy Casteel! Thank you to all the judges! "Berry" is owned by judge Randy Chesnut and co-owned with us. Berry is expertly handled by Jeff Pyle.

At the Memphis specialty show in March, our Hickory hills Shabby Chic(aka Jolene), was awarded Best puppy her first time shown! Our Hickory hill's Kryptonite won the 12-18 class both days and his litter sister, Hickory Hills Elektra  won her 12-18 class as well. All these youngsters are sired by our Ch. Porter House! Look for these youngsters with Jeff Pyle!

We attended the St. Louis specialty May 9 and were very happy that our Hickory Hills Tigra(aka Missy) was awarded the 12-18 class her very first time in the ring! Missy is a litter mate to Kryptonite and Elektra and is owned by Lou and Mindy Ormsby of KY. This was and especially nice class win, since the Ormsby's are new to the sport of showing dogs! We believe Missy is going to have a very exciting show career! We again want to thank Jeff for a great job handling!

We have a new addition at Hickory Hill! We are pleased to announce that Windfalls Emancipation of Mimi(aka Mariah) is now residing at "The Hill!" Mariah has a couple of Best Puppy wins under her belt and we think she she is going to be a great addition to our breeding program. Mariah was co-bred by Jeff Pyle and is sired by Ch. Cade of Fran-Jo out of Joelles Golddigger of Jeseffan( a Sel. Hickory Hills GQ granddaughter.


2008 National News

At the 2008 National in Beaumont, our Hickory hills Sweet Tart placed 3rd in the Bred-by Exhibitor class, thus proving that working dogs can be show dogs! Sweetie is a Certified Therapy dog and is now working toward her obedience title. Sweetie was handled at the National by co-breeder and co-owner Steve Grainger and is owned by Dr. Cynthia Pena, of New York. Our young male "Hickory Hills Kryptonite" aka Rocky placed 2nd in a competitive 6-9 puppy class, as well.
